Summary of outcomes and reflections from SPLEWDI
We’ve developed a summary of outcomes and reflections from the 15-month implementation of SPLEWDI, on behalf of the project team. The report includes an overview of what SPLEWDI aimed to do, provides an outline of what was achieved during the initiative, and includes a summary of what we’ve learnt that can help to inform Lived Experience workforce development activities in future.
That’s a wrap from our SPLEWDI event
Thanks to those who were able to attend last week's Suicide Prevention Lived Experience Workforce Development Initiative (SPLEWDI) event at the National Centre for Indigenous Excellence (NCIE). It was such a special opportunity to come together and spend time exploring all that we did.
Together, we shared knowledge, expertise and resources that will help others in their work, and contribute to a thriving Lived Experience workforce here in Central & Eastern Sydney.
Come along to our event: Towards a thriving Suicide Prevention Lived Experience Workforce in Central & Eastern Sydney
TheTowards a thriving Suicide Prevention Lived Experience Workforce in Central & Eastern Sydney event is happening on Thursday 26th June 2025. We’re really looking forward to bringing together a thoughtful, passionate group of people to learn from each other, share ideas, and spark new possibilities.
The event will be a space to connect, reflect, and brainstorm ways we can further evolve a regional approach to developing a thriving Suicide Prevention Experience workforce. The event wraps up the Suicide Prevention Lived Experience Workforce Development Initiative or SPLEWDI that we’ve been working on over the last year.

In this webinar session, hear from Lived Experience practitioners who incorporate arts-based tools and creative expression into their peer work.
Funded Peer Supervision – the pilot is underway!
Through SPLEWDI, we’re piloting an approach to funded external peer supervision for those working in Lived Experience roles in suicide prevention in Central and Eastern Sydney. Over the next few months, a group will receive a mix of 1:1 and group supervision from an expert external supervisor, and we’ll be taking the opportunity to learn about what’s most helpful and what effective high quality peer supervision looks like.
Open Dialogue training – block 1 is complete
A group of Lived Experience practitioners in the Central and Eastern Sydney have completed the first two days of the ‘Introduction to the Open Dialogue approach’ training in April delivered by the Open Dialogue Centre. The training is an opportunity to come together with their peers in the region to learn, reflect on and further develop their peer practice.
