Summary of outcomes and reflections from SPLEWDI

Over the last 15 months, we’ve had an exciting opportunity to work closely with a collective of people from the suicide prevention Lived Experience workforce in Central and Eastern Sydney to better connect, support and sustain this important workforce.

It has been pleasing to see people who work across different roles and settings, but within the same region, respond so warmly to coming together to develop their practice and support the work they do.

As with any time-limited program, while the formal offering of activities comes to an end, it’s important to capture what we’ve been able to achieve along with what we’ve learnt during that time — with the aim that this will help to inform and to advocate for more initiatives like this in the future.

We encourage those who’ve been involved in SPLEWDI, as well as those who have found their way to this online hub more recently, to read through the summary of outcomes and reflections from the project that our project team have compiled. You can access the report below.

A big, warm thank you to all those who participated in SPLEWDI over the last 15+ months and have helped to demonstrate the value of taking a regional approach to peer workforce development — particularly members of the Guiding Coalition who have so kindly shared their expertise and guidance with us along the way, and to Central and Eastern Sydney PHN for showing their commitment to developing and supporting the suicide prevention Lived Experience workforce.
